Pet-Friendly Run/Walk at St. Ann Center October 1
September 1, 2016
The 3rd Annual Darby’s Dash fundraiser, a pet-friendly one-mile walk and five kilometer run will be held Sat., October 1.
Check-in is at 9am and the run/walk begins at 10am.
The scenic course winds through the grounds of St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care, 2801 E. Morgan Avenue, and the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi Motherhouse and St. Francis Seminary Woods.
The fun walk/run features a pre-race pet blessing, raffles and refreshments, a free post-race chair massage for people and their pets, and a dog agility course.
All proceeds from the event support St. Ann Center’s Care Champions program that directly benefits youth, frail elderly, and adults with disabilities, who have no means to pay for services they desperately need.
Darby, St. Ann Center’s first canine volunteer, who demonstrated the therapeutic value that a loving pet provides, inspired the dash. Since Darby, many more furry friends have offered comfort and companionship to the children and adult clients served at the center.
The $25 registration fee for adults and $15 for children includes a t-shirt, tote bag, and a bandana for a favorite pet. Special $60“pack discounts” are available to families (two adults and two children).
