Official Contest Rules

OFFICIAL RULES FOR ALL CONTESTS POSTED IN PRINT EDITIONS OF THE BAY VIEW COMPASS AND ONLINE AT WWW.BAYVIEWCOMPASS.COM

Limit one entry per person per day. No purchase necessary. Making a purchase will not increase your chances of winning. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. All federal, state, and local regulations apply. The Bay View Compass is the sole sponsor (”Sponsor”) of contests posted on BayViewCompass.com. We will not sell your email address or personal information to any third party.

1. Eligibility. Contest is offered only to legal U.S. residents 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Contest is offered only to participants who are residents of Wisconsin. Proof of age, eligibility and identity must be furnished upon request. Sponsor will not award a prize to anyone not meeting eligibility requirements at the time of entry. Employees of The Bay View Compass and BayViewCompass.com and the immediate families and members of the same households of such individuals are not eligible to enter. The term “immediate families” refers to spouses, parents, children, siblings, and in-laws, whether living in the same household or not. Winners of a past Bay View Compass contest within the past year are not eligible to claim prize. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entrant if these Contest rules are not followed.

2. How To Enter and Win. By entering, you agree to comply with all applicable law and these Contest rules, and you agree to abide by all decisions of the Sponsor. You may enter by completing and submitting the electronic entry form online at www.BayViewCompass.com. All entry form information (name, address, telephone number, and email address) must be complete and accurate. Limit one entry per person, per day. Entries generated by a script, macro or other automated or mechanical means and detected as such will be disqualified. Contest entrants may enter beginning at the time that the contest is published online. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. central time on the date that the main contest page specifies. Sponsor is not responsible for entries that are lost, late, misdirected, incomplete, incomprehensible, illegible, damaged, undeliverable or delayed. Electronic and email entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address at the time of the entry. The authorized account holder is the person to whom the applicable internet service provider or other organization (such as a business or educational institution) has assigned the email address. All decisions of Sponsor are final. One (1) winner will be randomly selected by Sponsor from all eligible entries on or soon after the date that the main contest page specifies. Winner will be notified by e-mail or at the phone number listed on the entry. If Sponsor does not receive a response from a winner within four (4) business days of the date Sponsor first transmits notification, the prize is forfeited and Sponsor may, in its sole discretion, randomly select an alternate winner. Sponsor is not responsible for the inability to contact winners resulting from incomplete, incorrect, incomprehensible or out of service email address or phone number provided by entrants.

3. Prize and Odds of Winning. A total of one (1) prize will be offered during the Contest. One (1) winner will be offered the prize that is described on the main contest page, unless otherwise specified. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the unlikely event that the scheduled prize becomes unavailable. Fair market value of prize varies from month to month.

The odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received.

4. Terms and Conditions; Limitation of Liability. Participants are responsible for complying with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and with these Contest rules, and by entering, participants agree to be bound to these Contest rules. Any security breach or other attempt by an entrant or other party to tamper with the proper administration of the Contest will disqualify the entrant and may result in civil or criminal action against the entrant or other party and may result in the discontinuation, suspension, extension or cancellation of the Sweepstakes.

BY ENTERING, WINNER AND ENTRANTS AGREE, EXCEPT WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW, TO RELEASE AND DISCHARGE, HOLD HARMLESS AND INDEMNIFY THE CONTEST ENTITIES, THEIR EMPLOYEES, AGENTS AND REPRESENTATIVES, OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS AND THEIR IMMEDIATE FAMILIES, SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, AND ALL OTHERS ASSOCIATED WITH THE DEVELOPMENT AND EXECUTION OF THIS CONTEST, FROM ANY AND ALL TAX LIABILITY THAT MAY BE IMPOSED OR ASSOCIATED WITH RECEIPT OR USE OF THE PRIZE, AND FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, ACTIONS, PROCEEDINGS, AND LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES, EXPENSES, FEES, INJURY OR LOSSES (INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH) SUSTAINED IN CONNECTION WITH THE RECEIPT, OWNERSHIP, OR USE OF THE PRIZE OR WHILE TRAVELING TO, PREPARING FOR, OR PARTICIPATING IN ANY CONTEST-RELATED OR PRIZE-RELATED ACTIVITY.

By entering the Contest or by winning, participants grant to the sponsor the right to publicize the participant’s name, photograph, image, likeness, voice, statements, and biographical information for advertising, trade, and promotion purposes without compensation and without opportunity for review, except where prohibited by law. Winner must execute an affidavit of eligibility and liability and publicity release when claiming prize. Sponsor retains the discretion to make all decisions regarding the interpretation and application of these rules. All decisions of Sponsor are final and discretionary. All participants and winners agree, by their participation in the Contest, to submit to the personal jurisdiction of the courts of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. For prizes valued at $600 or greater, winner must provide his or her Social Security Number for tax purposes.

Sponsor reserves the right to change, alter, or amend these Contest rules as necessary, in its sole discretion, to ensure the fair administration of the Contest or to comply with applicable law.
