Bay View resident and Compass contributor Jason Haas was among those who participated. Volunteers helped install five four-by-eight-foot planting beds in Haas’ 900-square-foot Pennsylvania Avenue yard. Haas intends to share his garden beds with other users.

The five completed planting beds. Each measures four-by-eight-by-one feet. The four parallel ones are each 20 inches apart, and the fifth is about two feet away, allowing for gardener and wheelbarrow navigation.
