New book and music store in old library
April 28, 2009
Bay View Books & Music moved into 2658 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. last month, the storefront formerly occupied by Betty Busateri’s Music, Music, Music. Bill Frickensmith owns the store, previously Recycled Records, Books & Music in the Prospect Avenue Mall (1995-June 2006) with an incarnation more recently as Bargain Books, 4731 S. Packard Ave., in Cudahy. The bookstore is still being stocked with inventory, but they’re already getting walk-in traffic. There is a one-third-off-everything sale through Memorial Day. Bay View Books & Music sells “almost new or used” CDs, DVDs, LP records, and books, featuring literature, arts, history, philosophy, and cookbooks. The store accepts cash and credit cards. From 1888 to 1914 the building housed Milwaukee’s first neighborhood library. More: (414) 489-7601.
