April 21, 2009

April 21, 4:08pm

Milwaukee Police spokesperson Anne E. Schwartz issued a media release stating the sexual assault suspect is now in custody. She said he was arrested by Milwaukee Police this afternoon during an investigation by the Sensitive Crimes Division.

Milwaukee Police are asking the community to be alert to a sexual assault suspect who is operating in Milwaukee.

At 8 a.m. today, a 15-year-old male was walking in the area of Sherman and Hope when he was forced into a vehicle at gunpoint. At a stoplight, the 15-year-old was able to punch the suspect and get away.

At 8:30 a.m. today, another 15-year-old male was walking in the area of 51st Hope when the same actor approached him and forced him to a vehicle at gunpoint. The suspect took the victim to a location on the north side where the boy was sexually assaulted. He was then allowed to go free.

The actor is a suspect in a February sexual assault of an 17-year-old male that occurred at the same north side location as the assault today. He was arrested for an October 2007 sexual assault for which he was acquitted in 2008.

We are asking everyone to be extremely cautious and to be on the lookout for a suspect matching the following description:

A black male, age 24, 5′10″ tall, 180 pounds. He has a light complexion with a slight mustache. Today, he was wearing a black baseball hat over a black doo rag, black three-quarter length coat, blue jeans and white Nike tennis shoes. He was driving a black 1994 Ford Contour with grey interior, license plate #372-PNY. He was armed with a black handgun. Anyone spotting that vehicle is asked to call police immediately using the 911 emergency number.
