LGBT “Run for Fashion” event to honor memory of Vic Milford

Vic Milford was a valued member of the Milwaukee community. Originally from South Africa, Vic moved to Milwaukee to continue his career as an executive with Miller Brewing Company. Tragically, Vic was killed in an apparent mugging in Walker’s point on Saturday, January 26, 2008.

During the June, 2008 Pride Parade, Vic was honored by a group of his friends who marched in the parade vowing to “Keep Vic’s Smile Alive.” This year, with a special addition to the PrideFest weekend, Vic’s legacy endures.

On March 14, 2009, at MOCT nightclub, (240 E. Pittsburgh Ave, Milwaukee.) PrideFest, The Ronald McDonald House, and the Zoological Society of Milwaukee County Zoo will gather to remember Vic’s life and carry on his legacy of giving to the community he knew and loved.

A special fashion show event showing off the latest spring fashions sponsored by Luci’s Boutique (532 Water St. Milwaukee/ 4405 Oakland Ave, Shorewood) and Shoo (241 N. Broadway, Milwaukee) will take place at MOCT at 10:30PM, with doors opening to the public at 9:30PM. Donated items will be auctioned, and guests will also have the opportunity to sign up for PrideFest updates, or to become a Proud Crowd member.

Monies raised during the evening’s auctions will be distributed between The Ronald McDonald House, the Zoological Society of Milwaukee County Zoo, and PrideFest, Inc.

In a private pre-party there will be an announcement of a major event to take place during PrideFest on June 13th in honor of Vic Milford. Those expected to attend will include several leaders in the LGBT Community, as well as various sponsors, media, local politicians, and special event beneficiaries. Guest speakers from each beneficiary will address guests with details regarding the upcoming PrideFest weekend event, and what carrying on Vic’s legacy will mean to their organizations.

Among the evenings donors and sponsors are; Miller/Coors Brewery, Luci’s Boutique, MOCT, FORD Models, JC Pub and Grill, Don Jacobs Scion, Shoo, Three Olives Vodka, Aras Promotions, Elle Beauty Lounge, Beer Capital Distributing, Be Creative Design Group, Glaceau Smart Water, Gregory and Company Galleria Florist, 4PM Magazine and DeRiah Boutique Salon. Monies raised during the evening’s auctions will be distributed between The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Eastern Wisconsin, the Zoological Society of Milwaukee County Zoo, and PrideFest Inc
