Toppers Pizza coming to KK
August 6, 2010
A Toppers Pizza is planned for 2262 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., the Compass has learned.
Toppers has franchises in six states and is headquartered in Whitewater, Wis.
The vacant site being built out was formerly part of Schwartz Bookstore and is immediately north of Babe’s Ice Cream and south of the expanded Riviera Maya.

Hmm. I hope that KK doesn’t become dominated by chains. That’s all we’d need.

I disagree with the poster above. If Classic Slice, Transfer, De Marinis’ and the other pizza places in Bay View were open past 11pm, this wouldn’t be exciting at all and I’d gladly give them my business over Toppers. But since they aren’t open late (none serve food past 11pm and most close even earlier than that on weeknights), I welcome Toppers to the neighborhood!

I’m STOKED for this. Classic Slice is okay, but it’s way too expensive for what it is and they’re not open late enough.

Agreed with Chris. There was a niche in bayview that none of the local guys were filling – Topper’s obviously had the business savvy to notice it.
