Governor Doyle, Area CEOs Rally For Legislation to Save Local Transit, Create Jobs
Business leaders support dedicated funding for transit, discuss growth plans
Governor Doyle and local elected officials will join the region’s top CEOs in urging the state legislature and local community to support transit legislation that implements dedicated funding for transit at a news conference Tuesday, January 19 from 11:30am to noon at Bucyrus International in South Milwaukee.
Noting the opening of the legislative session on Tuesday, speakers will discuss support for moving forward with legislation that addresses the current transit funding needs of the region. They will also discuss the link between transit and economic development, and potential expansion plans that are dependent upon the future of local transit.
