When Mike and Andrea Kosinski, owners of Bay View Bowl, 2416 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., saw the Charity Wish List in the December Compass, they decided to donate the proceeds of their 9 Pin Tap Tournament, held Nov. 28, to the Bay View Community Center. Their generous tournament contestants donated four barrels of food and $634 in cash, for a total value of about $1,000. The couple purchased more food with the cash. Dave Marks, owner of Dave’s World Bowling Pro Shop, 7833 W. Greenfield Ave., sponsored the tournament.

Linda Nieft, president and CEO of Bay View Community Center, said that the donation included 15 canned hams, 16 flats of canned vegetables, three flats of peanut butter, three flats of jelly, five cartons of cereal, four 12-packs of ramen noodles, three flats of jarred fruit, three cartons of mac and cheese, and two flats of mashed potatoes. “We could never afford to buy ham! Their donation was just fabulous. It provided 15 families with a special meal for Christmas, and all that other food is for people coming to our pantry. We provide people with a five- to six-day supply of non-perishable food. It was a fantastic donation.”
