Beginning May 14, NB Water St. closed 5-7 days for investigative inspection of city hall’s terra cotta

May 10, 2012

A third follow-up investigative inspection of City Hall’s terra cotta is scheduled to start on Monday, May 14, 2012 and will continue for five to seven days.  This inspection will be coordinated by a consultant contracted by the Department of Public Works (DPW) for this investigation.  DPW will also assist in the inspection.  Utilizing a 100-foot crane, work will begin on City Hall’s west façade, which will necessitate shutting down the northbound traffic lane on Water Street. The work will then proceed to the north façade (Kilbourn Avenue) and then to the east façade (Market Street).  Street closures and restricted access is being coordinated by DPW staff.
