Frolic parade canceled?

April 29, 2012

The 2012 South Shore Frolics festival, fish fry, and fireworks will take place at South Shore Park again this year, although there will not be a parade. The Bay View Lions Club has sponsored the South Shore Frolics for the past 62 years and has relied on corporate sponsorships to finance the parade for the past few years. According to Lions Club president Lyn M. Graziano, the parade’s primary sponsor, Braeger Automotive Group, gave last-minute notice that they will not do so this year. That left the Lions Club on the hook for the $24,000 parade’s price tag, with virtually no time to find a new sponsor. Graziano said that no other fundraising efforts were being made. So the Frolics will still be staged in July, but with no parade. Organizers hope that the parade will return next year, with a new sponsor. —District 14 County Supervisor Jason Haas

Instead of relying on one large donor why not work several smaller sponsors right here in Bay View? Let me know how my company can help. There lots of small businesses in Bay View who I am certain would help.
