Volunteer performers and puppeteer-aides

People of all ages are sought to participate in the commemoration of the Bay View Tragedy Sunday, May 6 at the Bay View Rolling Mills historical marker near Russell Avenue and Superior Street. This event marks the 126th anniversary of the Bay View Massacre, a defining moment in the movement for worker’s rights and the eight-hour day. Volunteers may be asked to manipulate puppets or perform as marchers or speakers in period costume. The first rehearsal is Saturday, May 5, from 11am to 2pm at the City Housing Authority’s Lapham Park Community Building at 650 W. Reservoir Ave. Another brief rehearsal will take place on Sunday, May 6, at 1pm at the historical marker in Bay View.
