Volunteer performers and puppeteer-aides needed for Bay View Tragedy memorial event May 6

Call for Volunteers/Performers
People of all ages are sought to participate in the commemoration of the “Bay View Tragedy” on Sunday, May 6, at the Bay View Rolling Mills historical marker near Russell and Superior Streets. This event marks the 126th anniversary of a tragic, defining moment in the movement for worker’s rights and the 8-hour day. Volunteers may be asked to manipulate puppets or perform as marchers or speakers in period costume. A rehearsal will be held on Saturday, May 5, from 11 am to 2 pm at the Housing Authority Community Building at Lapham, 650 W. Reservoir. Another brief rehearsal will take place on Sunday, May 6, at 1 pm at the historical marker in Bay View.
