Liberty on the Rocks
June 29, 2009
A new local chapter of Liberty on the Rocks, started last year in Denver, has organized in Bay View. Liberty on the Rocks, a nonpartisan, nonprofit social organization seeks to gather up “liberty-minded people,” according to local chapter organizer and Bay View resident Stacy Kaat, who hopes to distribute 300 copies of the Constitution and Declaration of Independence at the South Shore Frolics.
The group meets to socialize and discuss politics the first Wednesday of the month. No party affiliation is required. The location may vary but is often Frank’s Power Plant, 2800 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. Liberty on the Rocks next meets 6-8pm July 1 and Aug. 5 at Frank’s.
According to the national organization’s website, “With the goal of creating networks, friendships, and intelligent conversation, Liberty on the Rocks seeks to initiate the grassroots energy and intelligent dialogue necessary to shift America back toward the constitutional principles of freedom used to found this nation.”
