LOOKING FOR SOMETHING FUN TO DO THIS SUMMER?
FREE afternoon and evening events to be held all week at Kosciuszko Community Center
Milwaukee County Supervisor Peggy A. West is announcing the following Safe Summer Initiative events to be held at the Kosciuszko Community Center, located at 2201 S. 7th Street in Milwaukee:
Monday, June 22 - “Stranger Danger” from 3 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. Dog Safety at 4:30 p.m. with the Milwaukee County Office of the Sheriff’s K9 Unit, Wisconsin Humane Society therapy dog presentation at 5 p.m., and Annabelle Havlicek - Dog Bite Prevention & Golden Retriever Rescue of Wisconsin presentation at 6:00 p.m.
Tuesday, June 23 - “Anglers” Fishing Clinics. Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Fishing Clinic (learn how to bait and cast in the Kosciuszko Lagoon!) from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m.
Wednesday, June 24 - Milwaukee Fire Department fire prevention presentations from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m., Fire truck #6 from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m., Engine #23 & Survive Alive House from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., Coloring books, stickers, fireman hats!
Thursday, June 25 – “Bike Rodeo” and bike safety presentation by Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office. Bike check ups and bike essay contest to win a bike, courtesy of Ben’s Cycle. Bike helmets for rodeo participants courtesy of Milwaukee Metro Kiwanis Club.
Friday, June 26 - Water safety presentation by Milwaukee County Parks from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m., Ice Cream Social courtesy of Kosciuszko Advisory Board beginning at 6:15 p.m.
“Kosciuszko Community Center is a great asset for south side residents to enjoy,” Supervisor West said. “This week’s events showcase some of the exciting things Milwaukee County has to offer young people now that school is out.
