County Supervisor Leads FREE Bike Ride to Advocate for Park and Trail Maintenance

Milwaukee County Supervisor Patricia Jursik is inviting all constituents and bicycle enthusiasts in Milwaukee County to join her on a FREE bike ride June 18th beginning at the Sheridan Park Pavilion, Area 1. The group will engage in a family-friendly trip along the Oak Leaf Trail, stopping at the northern part of Grant Park, Areas 7-9, and returning to Sheridan Pavilion in time for the “Bluegrass Allstars” concert at 6:30 p.m.

Supervisor Jursik sponsors the annual “Pedal in the Park with Pat” to call attention to deterioration of the bike path and coordinate efforts to improve it. The Oak Leaf Trail is a precious resource to residents of the 8th District and Milwaukee County. Originally designed as a 64-mile trail in 1939, it currently stretches 106 miles, connecting residents throughout the County.

During her 21 months on the Milwaukee County Board, Supervisor Jursik has advocated for strong infrastructure for bicyclists and bus riders. Her leadership contributed to overwhelming Board support for adding bike racks to buses, launched this month, which were mostly funded with federal dollars. Supervisor Jursik’s priorities include maintenance of Milwaukee County’s trails, Parks and transit system.
