Cyndi Lauper performs at PrideFest June 12

Recording artist Cyndi Lauper performed on opening night of PrideFest, June 12, along Milwaukee’s lakefront.

Lauper, who has sold over 25 million albums, is an outspoken gay rights activist.

In a statement on her website, Lauper said, “It is absolutely insane to me that people are not allowed simple civil rights in this country simply because of their sexuality.”

Pridefest 2009 runs June 12 -14 on the Summerfest grounds.
